The general objective: to ensure the provision of security and safety services for the university's facilities to maintain security. 

Mission:

  • Implementation of approved plans and programs
  • Applying rules, regulations and instructions for the security and safety of staff and all university facilities.
  • Contribute to defining conditions and specifications for competitions related to providing security and safety services for university facilities.
  • Implementation of contracts for providing security and safety services for all university facilities concluded with specialized institutions and companies.
  • Spreading awareness about safety principles among the university employees and its faculties through bulletins, educational posters, lectures and seminars.
  • Coordinating with the Civil Defense to conduct field tours around the university facilities to ensure security and safety.
  • Monitoring the application of security and safety rules and regulations and the instructions issued by the concerned authorities (Ministry of Interior, Civil Defense.)
  • Determining evacuation plans and conducting hypothetical evacuation operations, and providing training courses for staff, including training in firefighting in coordination with risk management.
  • Ensuring the safety of security and safety systems and means in the university's facilities, colleges and warehouses.
  • Supervising the security services provided by private companies.
  • Supervising the provision of security for events, seminars and workshops held by the university
  • Organizing the entry and exit of individuals and traffic in the university parking lots and campus. 
  • Issuance of entry licenses for visitors, companies and some institutions, as well as permits for entry or exit of equipment and supplies.
  • Issuing entry permits for university employees' cars and organizing parking lots.
  • Issuing entry cards for operating, maintenance, cleaning and other companies that have long-term contracts with the university
  • Following up on security incidents within the university's facilities and colleges and the initial investigation in coordination with the competent authorities.
  • Distributing guards (male-female) to the university buildings according to the need, in coordination with the Vice Presidency for Female Student Affairs.
  • Participating in receiving delegations visiting the university.
  • Maintained 24-hour presence during the weekends to follow up with security and supervise the guards' work.
  • Determine security and safety needs and requirements and communicate with the competent authorities to secure them
  • Conduct field follow-up of the security situation inside the university buildings, yards and parking lots, especially during working hours. 
  • Participate in determining the department's human resources, equipment and materials needs, and follow up on their provision.
  • Identifying the training courses required for administration's employees to nominate them for the appropriate training programs.
  • Preparing periodic reports on the department's activities, achievements, and suggestions to obtain higher performance.
  • Any other tasks assigned to it.
