The general objective:  To provide integrated services to meet and maintain the operational and maintenance requirements of the University and its various facilities.

 

Mission:

  1. Implementation of approved plans and programmes.
  2. Implementing regulations and instructions related to the organisation of maintenance and public services.
  3. Supervise the annual preventive and emergency maintenance plan preparation and implementation.
  4. Prepare conditions and specifications for maintenance work before submitting it to the tender.
  5. Detecting buildings, constructions and public facilities that need restoration and submitting recommendations to the Department's Director General.
  6. Updating and developing technical specifications for facility maintenance contracts and supervising their implementation by the needs of university facilities and facilities to improve their standard and appearance.
  7. Rationalizing electricity and water use in coordination with the relevant organisational units.
  8. Supervising the operation and maintenance of facilities, buildings, public utilities, renovations and cleaning.
  9. Providing operation, maintenance and cleaning services, equipment, devices and furniture for all university buildings and ensuring the provision of requirements.
  10. Apply the principles of safety and environmental protection in all operations and maintenance.
  11. Following up on the implementation of contracts for the operation and maintenance of facilities and the work of contractors to complete the works on time.
  12. Following up on the maintenance and cleaning performance and securing all the supplies and materials to finalise the maintenance and cleaning work at the work sites.
  13. Participate in proposing the required projects for the university and determine the standards and technical specifications necessary for their implementation.
  14. Determine the standards and technical specifications required for the operation and maintenance of university facilities.
  15. Ensuring the delivery of public benefits and services to the various university facilities in cooperation with the concerned authorities.
  16. Participate in determining the department's human resources, equipment and materials needs, and follow up on their provision.
  17. Participate in determining the training needs of the management staff to nominate them for the appropriate training programs.
  18. Preparing periodic reports on the department's activities, achievements, and proposals for performance development.
  19. Any other tasks assigned to it within the limits of competence.
