The General Department of Facilities was established by His Excellency the University President's Resolution No. (27/32/1/Q), dated 21/6/1432 AH, under the name "Department of Projects and General Services." It was responsible for supervising university projects, executing the construction of university buildings and facilities, as well as handling maintenance, operations, cleaning, irrigation, and landscaping. In the year 1442 AH, His Excellency the University President issued a resolution to merge the Faculty Housing Administration and amend the department's name to become the "General Department of Facilities." Since then, it began its journey by executing a series of projects to monitor the university's urgent needs and provide the minimum baseline infrastructure. In addition, the General Department of Facilities has worked on providing support services to the university, including the maintenance and operation of buildings, facilities, devices, and equipment, alongside providing landscaping, cleaning, transportation, water supply, and security and safety services.
